Founder & Principal Consultant
Ty is a highly experienced strategic advisor, regulatory expert, and corporate leader, with a distinguished career spanning regulation, B2B and B2C operations, governance, and ESG. As the founder of Carn Advisory, he brings a 360-degree perspective to business challenges, helping organisations navigate strategy, compliance, leadership, and sustainability with confidence.
A Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), and Institute of Directors member, Ty is recognised for his leadership excellence and commitment to driving organisational success through strategic insight and ethical governance.
With over a decade in executive leadership roles, he served as Director of Licensing & Compliance at the Gambling Supervision Commission, where he played a key role in sports integrity, regulatory cooperation, and safer gambling initiatives. His expertise in gambling regulation led to invitations to international expert panels, including the International Olympic Committee’s Expert Panel for the International Forum for Sports Integrity, where he worked alongside organisations such as Europol, Interpol, FIFA, the Council of Europe, and UNESCO to combat match-fixing and betting-related corruption. Along with developing key primary legislation, Ty was the driving force behind being the first gambling regulator worldwide to incorporate Esports into its sports integrity framework.
Transitioning into industry leadership, he held executive roles in B2C online casino and European online lottery businesses, where he was instrumental in licensing, compliance remediation, AML strategy, and business growth. He later joined a major B2B software supplier, leading corporate governance initiatives to prepare the business for listing. As Group Head of ESG, he developed and implemented the ESG strategy and the corporate giving strategy, aligning business objectives with global ESG frameworks, including CSRD, GRI, SECR, and GHG Protocol. During this time, he worked extensively with small and large charitable organisations across the globe, ensuring corporate giving initiatives delivered targeted, high-impact projects that created meaningful and measurable benefits in the communities they served.
Beyond his corporate career, Ty is a passionate advocate for responsible business, ethical leadership, and community development. He served as a Board Member of the Isle of Man eGaming Strategic Advisory Board (EGSAB), working closely with both government and industry stakeholders to shape the future of the sector. Additionally, he is the Chair and Founder of the Isle of Man ESG Community of Practice, a cross-industry initiative driving ESG knowledge-sharing and regulatory evolution.
His dedication to community impact and grassroots development is further demonstrated through his role as a founder, trustee, and director of Sporting Club Isle of Man and FC Isle of Man. This initiative was designed to create new opportunities for local players, coaches, and professionals while fostering economic, cultural, and social benefits for the Isle of Man community. Under his leadership, the project has supported youth development, sports technology innovation, business engagement, and local economic growth—reinforcing his belief that businesses and organisations can be powerful forces for positive change.
